Hot To Learn in August

August has been hot at the heArt & Soul of the Yadkin Valley!

AC and essential oils aren’t the only thing keeping us cool though as we learn about abstract artist Mike Taber as our Artist Spotlight this month. Make sure to check out our Calendar to find out when Mike will be bringing his art to the gallery for a Live Art Session. All the cool kids will also want to find out when we are hosting our Back To School 80’s Style at The Queen’s Castle where exclusive pop up meals are served thanks to our new culinary artist Chef Pat Meyer.

Also new this month we welcome Piccioni Vineyards as our featured winery. Get an idea of their offerings in our Wine Watch before stopping at the gallery at 113 East Main Street in historic downtown Elkin where you can also pick up your Clove Oil, on sale this month. Learn about all its multiple uses here.

You will also find the Astroforecast useful as you prepare to make the most of Virgo season and a little Aventurine, available at the gallery, can smooth the way. Death Becomes Us All might help you learn how to make the most of conversations so that final moments can be less stressful. Before running off to the stressful days that are returning to school, I do hope you will take a few breaths to appreciate what’s left of summer in Poems, Prayers and Potential.

There’s always great potential at the gallery where guests can learn about the over 50 regional artists we represent as well as community activities and histories. Plan your visit on a Friday or Saturday evening so you can peruse the art before joining us on the Haunted Elkin Trail where local mysteries and histories are revealed during a short easy hike on the Mountains-to-Sea Trail.

We’ve extended our hours so we can better accommodate your needs so make it a point to come see us soon. We can’t wait!
