Elkin Creek

Heart and soul goes into the wines of Elkin Creek where a few varieties exemplify the diversity of the Yadkin Valley Wine region.  Located at the Wilkes/Surrey County line at a historic mill, this vineyard highlights grapes native to several different countries.

The Dornfelder combines complex notes of nuts and baking spices to delight those partial to traditional German table wine.  Those who prefer a flavorful visit to Italy might appreciate the Sangiovese which goes well with pasta or the Classico which blends Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon for a taste of Tuscany.

French fans might appreciate the Chardonnay with the fruity flavor fermented in stainless steel or the Vin Doux, a Cabernet Sauvignon aged in French Oak.  This port wine balances dried dark fruits and sweetness and like many of the wines featured at heArt & Soul doesn’t last long.

Visit the heArt & Soul of the Yadkin Valley Gallery at 113 East Main Street in downtown Elkin to find out which wine suits you best and to hear more about other culinary arts available in the region.
